Social Anxiety Disorder
Series on Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD)
This disorder can also be called SAD unfortunately, many young people are victims of this disorder. I was a victim of this disorder I was so concern about how people think of me, I was careful not to be seen as incompetent, I felt insecure and also felt that whatever I did was going to be judged by people.
I lived with this disorder for years not knowing that I had such. I have a skin that's so delicate which made me have so many black spots (thanks to good skincare products as they are fading). I felt timid going out because I always thought people were looking at my skin. I struggled to fit in, indeed it was a hard pill to swallow, I hardly kept friends and when one teases me about my skin, I feel offended and most times recoil back to my shell.
I grew up doing things myself, feeling contented with whatever I had, feeling independent and socially withdrawn from people. I felt I was doing well alone except I needed something. I remember one of the days whereby I had nothing to eat, no money and no friends to ask the way the hunger slapped me eh! I had to pick up courage and asked for assistance.
Now let me tell you what this SAD (Social Anxiety Disorder) does, it makes you feel like you are inferior, incapable, judged negatively, even embarrassed and even depressed. Sincerely I was a victim, most times I ask myself what made me depressed then? I don't have an answer to that.
I lived with SAD for serval years until I listened to one of Dr. Pastor Paul Enenche's message on JOY, from that message I discovered that I don't have to behave as a Mediocre or feel inferior because He that is in me is greater and bold. I took down points on how to overcome SAD and how not to feel depressed. I tell you, ever since I listened to that message my life got transformed I became born again which was the true source of JOY. I began to be more friendly and always smiling.
I started by listening to Anit- depressant songs one of them was released in the year 2020 (Keep Holding On), I started doing things that requires cognitive reasoning, I started socializing with people and kept moving on and on.
Now, none of my family or even friends knew what I was passing through like I said, I never knew it was a disorder.
So dear reader, you might be struggling with SAD and even depression, but I'm here by God's grace to open your eyes to it and so that you too can overcome it just like me.
You'd hear my voice soon... đŸ’•
